Difference Between Alligator and Crocodile

Let's test our knowledge by identifying which one is Alligator and which one is a Crocodile in the above picture? If you already know the difference, you can skip to read something else, however if you are amongst those who do not know how to spot the difference between these two, then this page is surely a treat for your brain.

Jaw and teeth:

Alligator have short and narrow jaws while Crocodiles have broad and wide jaws. If Alligator's mouth is closed, you would not be able to see it's lower teeth while Crocodile has it's lower jaw teeth always visible.

Habitat:

Alligators prefer fresh or less salty water while Crocodiles have special glands that excrete excess salt so it can tolerate salty environment.

Color:

Alligators have greyish-black tone while Crocodiles have brown-tan skin color.

Location:

Alligators common in U.S. and China while Crocodiles can be found anywhere.

Behavior:

Alligators usually do not eat or attack humans while Crocodiles are known to eat humans (Please do not test the difference between the two by checking the validity of this point)
