No more than a stranger

I’ve cried to the sky and above my tearful story
the end of love, the loss of glory
swimming in the river of sorrow and pain
there’s nothing that lasts, nothing that remains
the missing bridge where I walked my way to my home
leaving me here to wait alone
the person whose heart was as wide as earth
whose soul was a shelter to me
is nowhere to be found
and I stand empty handed
looking to begin the journey again from the end
coz the person whom I thought of as my friend
was no more than a stranger
no more than a mere stranger

Hope so the sea waves understand
why I avoid the sunset
there’s so much darkness and I’m already lost
wishing for your love had such a high cost
these eyes of mine are devoid of all emotions
there’s nothing that lasts, not even another question
waiting for some miraculous reciprocation
now endless walking without reaching any destination
the person whose heart was as wide as sky
whose soul was a warmth for me
has turned so cold, so distant
and I stand empty handed
looking to begin the journey again from the end
coz the person whom I thought of as my friend
was no more than a stranger
no more than a mere stranger
