A never fulfilled wish

The moving pendulum of this big old clock
looks like the harsh sound of the guilt about things we wished, we thought
our inabilities to understand each other have pushed us miles apart
tears and emptiness only remain now in our hearts
there’s always some reason behind fights
some reason why things don’t seem to go right
some fears that we try to hide behind hard words
sadly we never found that reason
and the little nest that we built
for years by gathering sticks and silt
it all has broken as if it was never there before
if I wish for you in my life once more
I know for sure
it will be a never fulfilled wish
all the lessons, experiences and hindsight
are probably a kind term for guilt
but it can never built back all what has been ruined

Behind the rude attitudes
lies a feeling, a need to be understood
but whatever the reason was, we never tried to find
we kept on hurting our love, the love that was so kind
and now it’s no more there
what’s left behind is the sorrow and grief
I regret if we could’ve just understood
the meaning behind those angry words
may be today you and I wouldn’t be dying
like this in the cold
oh if we had only but saved our nest
wish if we had really tried our best
but now it’s all useless to dream
to wish to turn back the time once again, repent and scream
coz I know for sure
it will be a never fulfilled wish
all the lessons, experiences and hindsight
are probably a kind term for guilt
but it can never built back all what has been ruined
